In 2015 I launched a business called Lugs. I sold decorative kits for hearing aids and cochlear implants. I was inspired by my son as he wears a hearing and cochlear implant and I wanted to make them more appealing to children. They were extremely popular and I sold the kits worldwide. Sadly when covid hit and I was unable to send the kits through the post and I had to make the difficult decision to close the business. I kept a lot of the equipment I had used, in the hope I could one day start the business again.

For the last few years I have been working with children aged        5-10yrs as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant.

I could see that there was a big gap in the market for affordable SEN aids to use in schools and for families at home. So I decided early 2024 to step away from my teaching assistant job and start my own business creating and supplying as many products as I could to benefit all children and adults that needed it.

That's when I created Frelie.

(as people always ask about the name, it's a mixture of my two amazing boys names, Freddie and Charlie)
